The Conflict Between Dreams and Duty

Post  Kalinor Cindrius on Sun Aug 03, 2008 10:50 am

(On a warm and beautiful night, there wandered a handsome man dressed in all leather. His black hair flowed in the wind as his eyes glowed ruby red. His physique was godly as his face was envied by all men. The outfit he wore had emphasized his awesome figure. This wanderer had went to an entertainment area within the world of humans. He searched and searched for something that would catch his eye.)

Dressed in a plain yukata, a young woman with long red hair was seen hurrying up the backstairs to an entertainment house. She had in her hand a small bag, its contents unknown. She looked both ways, looking quite concerned. More like she didn't want anyone to see her. Then, she went to quickly go inside the house.

(The man in black leather had went from entertainment to entertainment house. He was not very impressed with the entertainers in the area. Heading to the last entertainment house for the night, he had went into the same one that the red haired woman in the yukata had went to. He took a seat in front of the stage.)

On the stage, two large doors were slid to the side, opposite in direction from the other. The lights dimmed and turned into a cool blue color. The background and setting had a mystical garden theme, and the performer was that woman. Her dance was more like a silent skit with emotion expressed in the background music. Her movements were telling a story. She was not in the yukata from before, but rather shiny jewels that only censored important places. The mood of the atmosphere was calm and hypnotizing, easily making one escape to an imaginary world of magic intertwining with nature.

(The only other light within the cool blue lighting was the light from the man in black leather. His eeys had shined a ruby red color. As he watched the performer dance, he had finally became amused with this performer. Unlike the other entertainers he had seen this night, he was actually impressed with this beautiful woman's performance. A grin had come over his face as he watched. Sharp ivory white fangs could be seen in his mouth as he grinned.)

The entertainer continued her routine. That is, until her eyes drifted over to those who were watching her. There was something or someone among the watchers that made her gasp and stall from her performance. Everyone became concerned, and commotion was rising among the crowds. No one knew for sure why this was happening.

(The red eyed man knew she had noticed him in the crowd. He was not surprised by her reaction to him. He had that effect on many people. He continued to watch her from the crowd. This mysterious stranger was watching her closely. He still admired her performance despite her reaction to him. He had made a cup of tea magically appear in his hand. As he watched the beautiful performer, he sipped on some peach flavored tea.)

She continued to stall, still staring at the man who had those glowing rubies and ivory fangs. The crowd got louder and louder, yelling at her. She bowed her head to them and apologized. But after that, she turned and hurried behind the stage where she was no longer seen. That made the crowd even more angry.

(Hearing the loud angry crowd, the ruby eyed man had grown annoyed by their yelling and anger. After taking his last sip of tea, he uttered the word "sleep". After he did this, the entire crowd had fallen asleep. He was the only one standing in the audience. He looked at every one lying on the ground. Shaking his head in disgust, he tossed his tea cup on the floor. Then he went backstage as well. He moved with the silence of a corpse and with the stealth of a spider. He was looking for the beautiful performer as he traveled through the dark shadows.)

The woman was there, but was just about to leave to go outside. She was in her yukata, her hair tied in back. She looked around before she would leave. If there was nothing there, then she would be outside.

(From a shadow in the ceiling, the same ruby red eyes had shined forth from the darkness. He knew that she most probably would see him which he wanted her to see him.)

She looked up and noticed the eyes once again. She reacted immediately, quickly pulled a medium sized blade from the obi of her yukata. She stood in her place, her eyes fixed on the glowing ones with her blade ready.

(He noticed her pull out a blade. The ruby eyed man had then fallen from the shadows. He landed before and stood up tall. His face was serious and his eyes carried a Hellish yet attractive feeling about them. He did not seem to be in any fighting stance for he did not intend to fight her. In a calm deep voice, he spoke out to her.)

"Put your blade away. I am not here to fight you."

The woman lowered her weapon down at her side. She took a step back from him and spoke out in a small voice.

"What are you? Vampire? It is my duty to slay each one I come by..."

"I am half demon half Angel."

(He still did not seem to frightened by her words. However, he was on guard.)

"Why do you slay vampires? Is it what you think is right? Or is it what someone else has ordered you to do? I won't judge you for whatever your answer may be. But before you take my life, I want you to know that if it were not for me, the human world would not exist. Now if you choose to strike, then do so. But this is not what I intended to do this night."
